Meet Matt Treichler
Candidate for Wright County Sheriff
Matt Treichler was born and raised in rural Brainerd, Minnesota, and graduated from Brainerd High School in 1996. He attended Central Lakes College in Brainerd, where he earned his associate’s degree before transferring to St. Cloud State University to complete his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. While in college, Matt interned and worked as a Community Service Officer for the St. Cloud Police Department. He finished his law enforcement education at Alexandria Community and Technical College in the summer of 2000.
In 1998, Matt married his high school sweetheart, Christine. They moved to Annandale when Matt began his career with the Wright County Sheriff’s Office in January 2001. Matt and Christine raised two wonderful children in Annandale, Caleb and Alison. Caleb followed in his dad’s footsteps and became a peace officer, while Alison is attending college, majoring in Art Education.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys music, hiking, hunting in the fall, cheering on the Vikings, and training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He also volunteers at his church as part of the worship team.
